About Us

Who We Are: We are the signature chapter of the AmeriCorps Alums organization, a national network of over 60 chapters throughout the country. Our mission is to build community through a lifetime of service.

What We Do: We aim to empower and provide pathways for leadership through service projects so that the lessons of AmeriCorps (taking action, finding common ground, and perseverance) are continued throughout our lifetimes.

What We Have Accomplished: During 2012, the Miami AmeriCorps Alums:

  • Mobilized 267 unique volunteers
  • Donated 802 volunteer hours
  • Special Guests of the White House Champions of Change on August 17, 2012 in WashingtonDC
  • Lead the Country during the August 2, 2012 Call Day to Save AmeriCorps Campaign.
  • Co-Hosted the South Florida Human Rights Panel event attended by over 80 activists and community leaders in Miami
  • Lead volunteer projects with the Regis House, Salvation Army, Mobilize.org, Surfrider Foundation, and 14 other organizations
